Vytina

Vytina, is just 44 miles far from Tripoli and is built at an altitude of 1033 meters in the foothills of Mainalo.

It is an ideal destination not only for winter vacations but also a good starting point for exploring the mountainous of Arcadia. In the center of the village is the main square with the stone church of St. Tryphon, built by local craftsmen with the famous local black marble. There you can find tavernas, cafes and shops with local products (dairy, pasta, local carpentry, honey, herbs, nuts and legumes).

It is worth visiting the Library of Vytina, a valuable historical record for the region, and the historic stone building of the “Greek School”. Do not forget to climb the hill of St. Elias to admire the wonderful view and walk to the path known as”Street of Love”, especially in   autumn or spring.

Vytina is located near the historic monasteries of Kernitsa and St. Theodore. Just 3km, on the outskirts of Mount Mainalon is the “source of Pausanias’.

Another path starts from the church of Agioi Anargyri Starches and leads to Mylaonta river and the stone bridge “Zarzi.”

From there you can also go up to the church of St. Nicholas. Alternatively you can move the white plaques or Kokkinovrysi located in the heart of fir forest.
